AKSHARA YAGNYAM

AKSHARA YAGNYAM is a project that distributes free books in temples across Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.

The first book published was Hanuman Chalisa, released in May 2021 during Hanuman Jayanthi. This colorful book features Hanuman images on each page and includes Hanuman Chalisa with its Telugu meanings.

The initiative has been well received by people of all ages, priests, and temple managements. Many children and parents have made this book a daily essential in school bags.

Since its launch, 1.65 lakh copies have been printed and distributed, with demand continuously rising.

With the tremendous response received on the Hanuman Chalisa book, VVST published various books containing slokas and stotras for all age groups.

One of the major tasks taken up by VVST is to release a reader-friendly version of Lalitha Sahasranamam. This stotram, consisting of 1008 names of Maa Lalitha Devi, is often recited incorrectly due to its fixed musical tempo. To address this, VVST published a book that prints each name on a separate line, avoiding confusion in pronunciation.

Guided by Dr. Anantha Lakshmi Garu, a well-known spiritual speaker, this project was initiated on the first day of Navaratri (October 2024) with a target to circulate at least 10 lakh books. So far, 75,000 books have been distributed.

Apart from Lalitha Sahasranamam, VVST has also printed and circulated Vinayaka Vratakalpam, Ammavari Stotra Malika, Harihararchana, Vishnu Sahasra Namam, and Sakala Devatha Stotralu. All VVST publications under AKSHARA YAGNYAM are meant for free circulation in temples. Over the last 4 years, nearly 5 lakh books have been distributed.
